If an employee 'owns' the feedback received from multi-raters and chooses not to share it with his/her manager, what steps could be taken to ensure the feedback is received, understood, and used as a tool to improve that person's performance?

Thanks for your help.

If the employee chooses not to share, doesn't that affect the employee's review? Let the employeek now that he/she will receive a more comprehensive and accurate review if all of the information is incorporated.

If they still don't want to share, the only thing I can think of is to come up with a confirmation form for the raters to use to communicate that they in fact provided the feedback. All that tells you is that they provided the feedback, but I don't know how else you can use the feedback if the employee doesn't give it to you.

So what is the purpose of conducting 360 feedback if it is not to be used for developmental purposes?

The information has to be shared with the manager.

Hello

We are in the process of evaluating if our firm is ready to apply a 360 tool. We are a 5 year firm with a young management team. We are considering doing a "pilot" with a small unit - any insight? Any recommendations on tools/books to review that are cost effective? Any things to watch out for in our evaluation?

Any thoughts on linking the 360 with the performance appraisal?

Thank you

IMO 360 feedback reports belong to the person who pays for the report. However, some 360 experts suggest that the subject of the feedback owns the report.

One problem with 360 feedback is the difficulty of getting the subjects to change their behaviors so that future 360s exhibit an improvement.

The only way to follow progress would be to use an internal or external coach to give feedback and then to follow the development plan of the manager. However if any external training is required then the authorisation of the manager would be needed.
