The Lighter Side of Business
By MARIA CODER, AP Business Writer SCRAP THE SUIT: College students want to dress down to go to work. An online survey conducted by the tax and consulting firm KPMG, found that three out of four students consider dress code an important factor during a job search. They believe a dress code is an indicator of a company's internal culture, KPMG said. "Today's college students have noticed a shift in the corporate environment and regard it as a positive one," said Jeri Calle, a partner at KPMG. The survey found that 76 percent of students are more likely to accept a job offer from an employer with a casual dress policy. Twenty-three percent said casual dress would not make them more likely to accept a job. http://news.excite.com/news/ap/000229/14/watercooler |

Maria,
Since you are a business writer, what would your recommend as the best way to sell my new recruiting services. I have recently started a small search and placement firm in Richfield Ohio in an effort to provide companies with recruiting programs that are more HR based rather than sales based. All of my assocaites have strong HR backgrounds so that better interviewing and prescreening efforts can be accomplished. Let me know if you have any ideas and thank you for your time. Sincerely, Chris Christen, VP Career1 Employment Services Richfield Ohio Tel. (330) 659-2446 Fax (330) 659-2418 Info@career-1.com |
