The company that I work for would like to hire several top executives, i.e., VPs or those that have VP potential within a short time frame (2yrs max).

My task is really two fold, a)preferally, fine a firm that has the capability of conducting a gobal search & b)fine one that does specialize in exectuive searches. I would appreciate any suggestions or recommendations that anyone has.

We are based in Houston,TX. I have also looked at organizations such as the Young Presidnets Organinzation, for leads. HELP!

I have worked with a firm for more than 7 years that I would recommend. The person to call is Bruce Woodmansee (Tully/Woodmansee International.) He does global high level searches. He can be reached at (740) 321-1131. He is unique in that you do not pay the 2nd half of your fee until the exec has completed one full year!!!! please call me if you would like to discuss further. Try looking at Association sites on the web where they're likely to have a membership. Depending on the field you're looking to fill, try the following:
The Andre Group (HR, OD, etc.)
Tom Dougherty & Assoc, 803-886-5627
Rowe Henderson, 864-676-9510
Ken Kern Search, 713-621-8010
Good luck!

There are two firms I have used and found very effective for "top level" experience, they are:

Executive Career Consultants - Attn: Bruce Bauer 314-994-3737

and

Primer Technology Group, LLC - Attn: Karen Robinson at 636-240-1071.

Please contact Paul DiMarchi - Pres of
DiMarchi Partners, Inc
7107 LaVista Place, Ste 200
Niwot, CO 80503
303 415 9300 / 303 652 9003 (fax)

He does national and global search's
and is outstanding at what he does. If
he cannot help you, he will refer you
to someone locally in Houston who can.
Has over 20 years of experience and is well regarded as an independant, without charging the larger corporate prices. Please tell him that A. J. from TEC referred you.

Or, you can speak to a local Houston company, ADMINISTAFF, who I work for in Colorado, as to addressing the cost-containment of current & future employee administrative & recruiting needs. Ask for Kevin Loeffler @
281-873-2739 and he can explain whether or not this service model would be a fit for your company. You can reference A. J. in Colorado.

Contact the local TEC Chapter in Houston, as they would have a larger, more seasoned pipeline for finding VP's locally than the YPO. Go to tecceo.org and look for Houston contacts.

Dear Shante,

I am currently conducting a job search and can give you quite a bit of information on good recruiting firms in the Houston area. I hae contacted several. First, let me say that I am a CPA Controller with Big 5 auditing and international controller experience, and would like to forward you a copy of my resume for your review. Please contact me at sbryan@ev1.net and I will give you my phone number. I'll give you the information, regardless. I have a recruiter list of around 20 and can tell you which ones are quality, and which ones lean more to the staffing assignments. I am dealing with 3 who I know to be good, and several others who are supposed to be good(but they haven't come through yet!!)

Regards,

Steve Bryan

One of the divisions of our company is an executive search firm of about 60 individuals. Most of these seasoned recruiters have specialty fields and many times actual work experience in the particular field. You'll see! Visit their website at www.careerenhancer.com

I am surprised (and disapointed) that there are no posts asking for additional information on these executive positions. Networking with colleagues has been our most beneficial recruiting tool (and, a big plus is NO FEE)! Many VPs -- or those who are potential VPs -- are missed because they are not actively or passively seeking other opportunities. That's where networking works.
