I am a HR Recruiter in a semiconductor company in Texas and want to know if anyone will share with me what type of shift differential their company pays for late evening shifts (3 p.m. to 12 midnight)

we are in distribution. currently, we pay .50/hour for first year associates on 2nd or 3rd shift. $1.00/hour for associates with over one year service.

in more competitive markets, we pay $1.00/hour and $2.00/hour.

For what it's worth, we are a municipal employer. We offer $.30 for second shift work and $.40 for third shift. We also add a weekend premium of $2 per hour Saturday and Sunday. However, I know people in the newspaper business who give $1 per hour second shift and $2 for third shift premiums. There are no weekend premiums.

Our semiconductor facility runs 24/7,365 days. We are on compressed work week schedules(12 hours daily),alt wks of 3/4 days.
We have four shifts in production:
A-Shift= Mon,Tues,Wed & alternate Sundays,6AM - 6PM, recieves no differential. This is the preferred shift and employees are satisfied with the days it offers w/o differential.

B-Shift -Thurs,Fri,Sat & alternate Sun, 6AM-6PM, receives 5%.

C-Shift= Sun,Mon,Tues& alternate Sat, 6PM-6AM, recieves a 15% differential.

D-Shift= Wed,Thurs,Fri & alternate Sat 6PM-6AM, recieves 15%.

Overall employees make out very well in pay with the built overtime added + differential.
