I'm a staffing specialist for a small staffing service. One of our largest clients has a promotion in January and will need 100+ entry level workers to do light packaging. What can I do besides the norm? (newspapers, flyers, job boards, referrals, etc.)
Any and all response greatly appreciated.

For temporary, entry level (unskilled) workers, I would suggest your best source would be your state employment agency and Department of Human Services.

Have you considered targeting HS or college students? Depending on their school schedule, quarter vs semester, it might be a good way for a college student to pick up some money before heading back to class.

For a grocery distributor, we needed to hire 75 merchandisers (entry level, few skills needed). We held a Job Fair on our company site and conducted interviews right there. Depending on where you are located and the access to mass media, it could be a good option. We conducted the interviews for a period of a week and had over 150 applicants to choose from! Needless to say, we got our people.

Ask the employees that you have already contacted to refer their friends, and maybe if it's within the budget, run a contest who can refer the largest number of qualified cantidates to win a Prize... or maybe offer $5 per qualified cantidate (someone who passes all of your screening satisfactorily).
