Has anyone used an applicant tracking system that works well? I need a paperless way to keep track of the numerous resumes we receive. If anyone has any great ideas (and costs), please pass along. Tha

The two giants in the field are Resumix and Restrac. We have used both and the company has setteled on Restrac. It has a more robust search engine and an open architecture database. In fact, we do all of our reporting by downloading data to an Access database for manipulation.
The real trick in any applicant tracking system is having discipline in the processes. If information is not entered in the system, then you cannot generate metrics to see how well you are managing the process. There is no magic.
I don't know what the cost would be. In our case we paid $5,000 per seat for the first year liscence. My experience has been that they consider the size of the company, et. al.

One piece of advice: I supported the Restrac system (now called Webhire) for 6 months before I got so fed up with it I quit! I think the key is to go with the solution where Webhire hosts your applicant data (so all you need to do is access the information via a browser). My old company handled everything inhouse and that's where the breakdown was in that it was too hard for Webhire to help us with our technical issues and we had many, many problems accessing the emailed resumes, accessing the software and horrible user problems.
Another solution I've used that was great for my company (another hosted application) is BrassRing (formerly Hire Systems). After experiencing it both ways, I'd never bring it inhouse again - hosted applications are the way to go! Good luck!

This is an old question - I was just checking out the workforce site - but call Glenn Howell over at RecruitMax. They offer an excellent system for internet recruiting.
Good luck.

Wow, looks like you could use another option. I was in Workforce site and thought you'd be interested in reviewing what RecruitMax offers. Call Tina Green at (877) 394-5644. We switched to them because they were a local company to Jacksonville - but have been very happy with the price and results.
