I am new to cold calling as a recruiter. What would you suggest I say when I am calling on candidates that are currently employed? Is there anything you would not ask or say? I will be calling them at work to see if they would be interested in a different opportunity. Thanks for your help and advice.

Use an indirect approach (I have found that works best in the past). For example, if you are recruiting Physical Therapists, tell him/her that you are calling to see if they might have a referral of a PT might be looking for a position...if that person is interested, they will let you know. If they do not know anyone, ask to leave your number in case they run into anyone that might be interested in the opportunity. Good luck.
