I have an undergrad from the University of Phoenix(UOP) in Business. I have been a Registered Nurse for 20 years. I currently work in Managed Care (health insurance) I am working on my MBA online from UOP. It is far more realistic then any classroom setting I ever attented. Most of my work life is spent on conference calls and netmeetings with members of my organization from East to West coast and every where in between. It is a difficult program and it's realistic. The group interaction requires you to think out of the box and embrace technology. I would choose an online MBA candidate over someone who went to bricks and mortar and partied the whole time. Frankly, Working adults that can hold down full time jobs at fortune 500 companies, run families with several teenagers and go to school are far more versed in the world then someone who spent his/her life in college. The US Military supports UOP as well as large corporations like Honeywell and Motorola. In my last class one of my team mates was working in Italy... Talk about being able to network. I've met people from every walk of life and culture...I've also worked my tail off to do excellent work. The requirements are tough. UOP is great and amazing school and I would recommend it to anyone who wishes to move into the future of communication and technology!-k

Nice endorsement, but last I checked UOP does not have AACBS/IACBE accreditation for its MBA program. There are other online MBA programs that do.
No question that online programs are great for working people It's far more convenient than having to go to classes.
I won't even attempt to respond to the comment about the partying at brick and mortar schools.

Being that Baker College is fully accredited, would you as an HR representative hire a graduate from this school.

UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS SYSTEM - This is structured by U of T's 9 seperate campuses in Texas, the school is very credible and their online MBA has a HR development emphasis with it in it's 36 credit curriculum. The price per credit is $366 for a general total of $13,176.00. For that price and the school name this is one of the best options I have found.
GONZAGA UNIVERSITY - Gonzaga is one of the most recognizable names in the US and especially on the West coast. Their online M.A. Organizational Leadership and Supervision is fully accredited, and the program is 36 credits at $640 per credit for a general total of $23,040.00.
INDIANA STATE UNIVERSITY - I put this on here more because I am located in Indiana, the program and school is fully accredited, and their M.S. HR development program is without a doubt the best buy masters degree in my opinion. The program is 36 credits @ $318 per credit for a total of $11,448.00.
KANSAS STATE UNIVERSITY - Their online M.S. Organizational Psychology degree is 38 credits @ $550 a credit for a total of $20,900.00. Every summer you will be required to stay 2 weeks on their campus in Manhattan, KS. Like others, it is fully accredited.
TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY COMMERCE - This I am not obsolutely sure is purely online as the others are. I wasn't able to get much information from their website, but their online MBA program with an emphasis HR is the shortest on my list with 30 hours @ $600 per for a total of $17,985.00. The reason this is on my list is because of their name, they are well-known and respected, their online program is one of the better programs, and for the price it is a great buy.
Runner ups:
CARDEAN UNIVERSITY - purely online venture between numerous well known and prestigious universities, lacks AACSB accreditation as well as a respected regional accreditation.
UNIVERSITY OF TULSA
COLORADO STATE UNIVERSITY
UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN - DEARBORNE
INDIANA UNIVERSITY
The above post was one I made in another topic, I wish I had found this one before I posted mine. I didnt read all 6 pages of this, but to defend nork, he/she is saying that U of Phx is not fully accredited, as many purely online institutions are not (carpela, u of p, cardean all come to mind). To go along with that, Cardean is a joint venture between many big name brick and mortar universities, however, they are yet to get the online institution fully accredited. Currently, this particular online university has regional accreditation if I remember right (a lesser named one at that), but not national (AACSB for its business school).
Nork was simply stating if you are going to put time and money into a degree you might as well go for a U of T, gonzaga, IU, etc online program, one that is a real brick and mortar university offering their same program online. U of P IS a degree granting program, when I see a person's resume with it, I still recognize it as a degree, however, after researching purely online programs and comparing them to brick and mortars, I realize there is a difference between the two.
Me, personally, next year I will be starting my MBA, I live in Indianapolis, there are regionally and nationally accredited MBA programs in the city, however, I am excited to do the online version. I think, as many do, that online MBA's are the future, they are becoming more and more popular. Not everyone will agree with my thinking, which is perfectly fine. I just feel if I'm going to pay the high tuition costs and valuable hours on my MBA, I want it to come from a program that is fully accredited, and one that has a brick and mortar backing on it.

I have to agree. I have participated in online MBA and it really has been a great experience. I was skeptical too, but it's at least worth checking out. I do so much traveling for my work it's been great to be able to do my MBA without taking a leap of absence. Online MBA programs offers students unparalleled flexibility and choice, allowing them to pursue this highly valued business degree without giving up their family life or work commitments.

@csquires
This is a good list of universities that offer advanced business degrees, but do they offer their programs online?

Ms. Bustamente,
I have read that most employers would rather see an online degree from an accredited school that has an established campus, such as Michigan State, University of Alabama, Troy State, etc.. The article stated schools that only exist online don't seem to carry as much weight with employers, regardless of whether they are accedited or not. From a personal experience, I think online programs require more self discipline than the conventional lecture hall. Also, the ability to exchange ideas from peole of other cultures and international backgrounds is a plus.

As a recruiter for over 30 years, I will attest that online only programs do take second place behind brick and mortar programs or online programs with a brick and mortar institution behind them.
