Hi,
I also recruit at a non-profit with no money to spend on an ATS. I would REALLY appreciate info / a copy of a applicant tracking system in Excel or Access as well. If you could e-mail me a copy to cyoon@tyndale.ca that'd be great! |

It's absolutely paining me to see this thread and to envision all these well-intended, over-worked folks willing to spend hours customizing an excel-based applicant tracking system that might serve the purpose of keeping you organized but would have minimal power to help you mine the data and understand your organization.
A powerful applicant tracking system needs to help you not only manage the information on your candidates, but give you information athat goes beyond the resume, enable you to screen in a consistent and efficient manner and then once you've hired successful candidates, to go back later on and see clearly where your best people come from, what online interview questions best predict successful performance on the job months and years down the road etc. Sounds complicated but it's not!! You should NOT settle for data on candidates-- you need information and a way of getting their STORY. You've GOT to check out www.hiringsmart.ca Have a boo at the videos from the partners and some of the clients. I know the guys who established this company and they will blow your mind with the power of what they can implement for you for FAR less time than the excel, ACCESS or Outlook-based system and believe it or not at LOWER COST when you take into account the time you'll spend setting up your system. I've helped 2 of my clients get hooked up with the system-- neither of them having internal HR or sophisticated recruitment processes at all and the tool is paying off in spades. Happy to connect. If you are looking for a simple applicant tracking website you should check out http://www.interviewreminder.com It might be to basic for your needs but great for scheduling interviews. |
