As a new recruiter you have many factors to consider - organizational size, is the interviewing process centralized or decentralized, hiring manager involvement, etc.. I stepped into this newly created position for the company last April and since they utilized decentralized hiring practices the first item I initiated was an interviewer / Hiring Manager guide to ensure legal compliancy and educate the interviewers. Next I focused on adding our company profile on every free job posting site available, then I developed an internal employee referral program (still not promoted to the point I would like but up and running), focus on employment branding (I used a company called Success Advertising for our ads), re-vamping the external website jobs listing and my focus in 2009 is the implementation of a integrated applicant tracking system. My biggest suggestion is that you need to review and focus on developing the in-house framework to support the recruitment effort before you begin attracting the candidates. |

I hate to join the line of persons interested in the recruiting guide, but I too am interested in obtaining a copy of this guide.
