We are seeking suggestions for an applicant tracking program?

We want a program that can:
1) track activities on applicants and our client companies
2) import resumes and documents to individual candidate and company files
3) search by key words, address, phone, city, state, etc.
4) add key words as needed
5) create various reports

It must be all that and also be affordable for a small business as we are an indepently owned and operated franchise.

Thanks

For a small business, MS Outlook works great.

Just create a Contact category for Applicants, you can simply cut and paste their resume into the system notes. You just list the activities that have been gone through under the activity sheet.

Outlook is a great tool for small business.

Taleo Small Business edition will do what you're looking for. I've been playing around with it for a small company and have been very impressed with its functionality and intuitive ease of use. I've used many ATS', and this is as good as any I've seen for a small business.

Low end version for $89/month; mid level for $119 per month per user. Also tailored for clients for an agency type of environment. Good customer support. I think they're giving 1 month free trial versions right now. www.taleo.com

Also look at cbizsoft. Theirs is $39/month. However, customer service is lacking and I found the import/export process to be cumbersome. They also have a one month free trial offer. www.cibzsoft.com

I would not use Microsoft Outlook. Very cumbersome, reporting capability small, won't automatically store and match resumes to requisitions, etc. Besides, with all the security issues MicroSoft products have, I wouldn't trust my resume database to a Microsoft product (my next PC will be an Apple).
