My company is $1.5B distributor that employs 2500+ in the US. We have one primary (Sr. level) recruiter who is tasked with handling all the full time staffing for all exempt positions and some nonexempt positions. We currently have this recruiter on a base salary plus 10% annual bonus and we are trying to figure out if this is the appropriate structure. Additionally, what would someone who can handle this type of workload with 5 to 10 years experience be worth in the open market?

How many openings at any one time? Does this recruiter do all the sourcing? To whom does this person report? And what other responsibilities does this person have (eg, applicant tracking system, branding, etc)

There is probably on average about 35 openings at any given time that they are responsible for. They also handle all sourcing and have other responsibilities including administration of the candidate tracking system, tracking and reporting of hires, as well as some unrelated responsibilities (corporate workstation allocation). This position reports to the employment manager.

Sounds like you have a small HR dept if your Sr. Level person is doing full cycle recruiting. Are there any direct reports this person oversees? I would research your region with this Senior title to see if 1) this position is classed right 2) this position is paid at market (ratio to op budget, employee ratio, HR staff, and duties) 3) if you need to do further analysis on the org structure of the company and/or department
