I was reading the thread about "Funny/Horror Stories" and one person wrote about hiring an employee who regularly fell off chairs and filed for workers comp. Can an employer actually check for previous worker comp claims? I apologize if this is a stupid question. |

Hi:
You can make inquiries about worker's compensation only after a conditional offer of employment has been tendered. I have a related question...
Any opinions on running this check? We have had a few claims that are questionable. Initially, these experiences make me want to run the check on potential employees. After doing a bit of research, I have found that a WC background check would not have been helpful in stopping these particular individuals. Just curious if others have had good experiences... |
