Hello everyone..i am a final year B.tech C.S.E student from NIT Warangal.
IBM selected me in july'07, but we still didnt get the offer-letters and joining dates!
Is this due to the current U.S economy slowdown?
When can we expect things to get back to normal??

It could be administrative processes on IBM's part and it could be the slowing economy. Many employers are cutting back on hiring.

As to how long the economy will be slow, it's hard to find agreement amongst economists (which is fairly typical). Given the slow housing market, the mortgage mess, and the low dollar exchange rate, I'd have to say it won't get better for at least a year and probably longer. I don't know if we're in or going to be in a recession, but if there is no recession then economy growth rates will be slow at best.
