Hi:

We are in the process of implemeting a new hire follow-up method to possibly offset our turnover rate. We plan to use a 60 day "How are you doing?" approach with new hires. I like the questions your company uses and the 30/60/90 follow-up. I would like to try the 30 day check with supervisors. Please share with me examples of questions your company uses for interviewing supervisors. Thank you.

I work in a technology company with 7500 employees. They do a week long session. It is the FIRST thing you do before your feet touch down at one of our campuses. They go over corporate polices, technology is given out (laptop), various business units come to do presentations. It is very robust. I am in the Finance division; which has 300 associates. I'm implementing a one day Finance specific session. Various departments will do presentations. Lunch with Finance leaders, ice breakers and tips n' tricks for finding the right information and training to help them in their roles. I'm also implementing check lists for day one on their work team, week two through four...and monthly status updates. I think the buddy system is great as well.

We're revamping our onboarding process, too. Is anyone using e-learning to cover basics like co. strategy, products, structure, etc.? Is anyone having new hire learn the basics BEFORE they arrive on Day 1?
