We currently use ADP for payroll, and an Access database for HR. This has become quite cumbersome. I'd like to integrate the two databases into one, but ADP's PC Payroll for Windows has limitations to this goal. I think ADP's HR Perspective is the most logical solution.

I'd like to hear what others have to say before listening the the song and dance from an ADP salesperson. ADP's website is intetionally vague about pricing, functionality, etc.

So, please share your thoughts. If you have experience with HR Perspective or any other HRIS software, I'd really like to hear about it.

Thanks in advance.

I dont know much about HR Perspective, butour firm has just become a recent reseller of the ABRA HRIS. It is an intergrated system including HR, payroll, training, attendance, and applicant tracking module. There are several accounting software packages that it interfaces with. If you consider bringing payroll in-house or would just like some free information on the software, feel free to let me know.

We are a user of ABRA HRIS. We have the HR, Payroll, Attendance and Applicant modules. We love it! It is all user friendly and integrated. We interface our GL to our inhouse GL system and also do ACH. We suggest however, that you place it on its own file server if you are purchasing the network version. We have it on our main server and have been having communication problems.

We converted to HR Perspective for Y2K compliance reasons. It is a good system if you use your HRIS system just for information tracking and you have a standard corporate structure. We struggle with the system because we don't have a traditional hierarchy structure and it doesn't have the integration capability we would like to our other systems.

You may find that data entry is cumbersome, because you end up going to several different screens to enter data on one person.

We moved to HR Perspective in 1998 and have found it reasonably robust but very complex. Be sure you are comfortable with the data model and the use of position contol. We are a small company, less than 150 employees and it is quite cumbersome for us. Depending on the size of your company, you may want to look at HR Profile - it's just an expanded version of PC Payroll for windows. if you are small it may be sufficient. There is supposed to be an upgrade to version 3 coming this summer that adds significant functionality but only for small companies!
