I am representing a new software program called Skill Solutions developed by SynTact Solutions. One of the difficulties in getting this product to market is a slow sales process. By in large, this process is slow becasue organizations' technology plan dictates their system purchase and utilization plans (guess that's what the IS plan is all about). However, IS people don't always have a clear view of the value of a stand alone or integrated program to the organization. Hence, they are necessarily hesitant to do anything. Truth is, they are quite busy just keeping thins up and running (who would want more mess to deal with). Skill Solutions also runs on a web platform and we will even take 100% administrative and hosting responsibilities. I guess my question is this: Is remote hosting the way to go in todays market? I see a conflict between security requirements and the need to keep existing IS systems as simple as we can. Any thoughts.
By the way, Skill Solution can be reveiwed at: http://www.skillsolutions.com if you have an interest. Dean J. Cleavenger, Ph.D. |
