I completely agree with this viewpoint. In order for HR to survive during this information revolution they need to become more proficient with systems and the use of data. HR has a real opportunity to assist the companies it supports into the 21st century by taking advantage of new technologies. But to do that they need some semblance of knowledge around these systems. |

It is absolutely necessary for HR to be IT knowledgeable. Many of today's companies make full use of HR as business partners and hold HR partly responsible for the successes or failures of the company's ability to remain competitive within their niche. The main conflict lies when management on either the HR or the senior fail to see this. Companies that have a common view on the necessity of IT in HR are some of the most successful companies in the world. |
