A secure portion of our HR intranet set is specific for supervisors. I have several supervisors that want to be able to link to and edit personnel documents and reports that reside on their hard drive (versus the server) from their intranet webpage. I've used FrontPage2000 to create the intranet site and have researched high and low to attempt to accomplish this for these managers, but to no avail. Anyone have any ideas?

I don't understand the problem. You can webanable Word documents and use hyperlinks to put them on your intranet, but also Word documents themselves can be set up in that way. For a customer I defined process models for the web with documents attached on relevant procss steps.

Gijs,

You're saying exactly what I did in our company. Use Word documents to create an intranet website!! It's so very simple and extremely helpful to the employee.

If you've done this, I have a small query. I have used the Web wizard and have used a TOC with a 'target' frame (like in Workforce.com). But I'm unable to bring forth an opening page in the target frame. Can you help? Could you please let me know at shant_mankodi@rediffmail.com?

Best regards
Shant

Windows XP, Office XP and SP PS pretty much allow for what you are talking about.

If you can't afford the CAL, have your development staff cook up something.
