My company is converting to JD Edwards World 1 XE. Has anyone gone through a payroll conversion with this software version? Has anyone encountered any problems or have any suggestions? Any suggestions

You may want to try AMF Bowling in Richmond, VA. I know they are using an Edwards product. Their HR department and PR work together - the HR Director's name is Al Corbin.

CompHealth Inc (loacated in SLC, UT) has been with JD Edwards for quite some time and they have been a "beta tester" with JDE on several of their products and upgrades. Their HR Director is Kevin Ricklefs and the Payroll Director is Sandra Freeman. They can be reached at www.comphealth.com or 801-264-6400.

We are the HQ for a multilocation manufacturing and distribution company. We converted to JDE OneWorld on 12/6/1999 and recently converted to JDE OneWorld XE on 4/1/2001. We use all modules of JDE OneWorld, including the HR/Payroll module. We process payroll for approximately 700 U.S. employees in several states. My recommendation to you is that you NOT choose J.D. Edwards HR/Payroll for your payroll needs. We have had nothing but problems with it since going live on 12/6/99 and even after converting to XE. Specifically, their detail and summary history files don't work. We've had to build back spreadsheets, using our journals, for every employee and every paycheck to process accurate quarterlies and W2s. The interim checks didn't work under pre-XE builds, but works much better under XE, though not perfect. Garnishments and 401(k) loans are a disaster. Even under XE we are struggling to get things to balance and even deduct correctly from employee's paychecks. Deductions and accruals do not work accurately either...under pre-XE and post-XE. We have been in touch with JDE on all these issues and the support has been very poor. JDE uses a patch update methodology ESU, which are just electronic patch updates. We have had ESUs issued which are incorrect and then new ESUs issued to fix the ESUs. My staff is extremely stressed out due to the extra work, inaccuracies, embarassment of not being able to produce accurate reports and not being able to get reliable help from JDE. We have another subsidiary of about 200 employees that we don't currently have on JDE OneWorld for payroll processing. They are on ABRA. We were planning to put them on JDE OneWorld this year, but canceled due to the problems with JDE. We also have a subsidiary in Canada with about 180 employees that we were putting on JDE OneWorld, but halted that process after the pre-setup phase due to the problems in OneWorld. If you'd like to talk with our Payroll Manager, I'd be happy to have you call to get more details.

I know of a company in Schaumberg, IL named Pliant Corp. who may be able to help you. They just moved here from Utah and may have had some start up experience you are seeking.
