As an Independent HR and Compensation Consultant I've had the privilege of helping numerous clients evaluate, select, implement, communicate, and utilize the "enCompassing Visions" software offered by JPS Management Consulting out of Calgary, Alberta.
This software provides a complete and integrated system which provides users across the company with job descriptions, evaluation ratings and results, postings, relevant selection questions, multi-rater assessment performance management based on both objectives and competencies, identification of action to pursue for greatest improvements, corporate-wide goal and objective checking and cascading, identification of training needs, tracking of individual performance, succession planning, various analysis cuts by numerous variables or factors, and much more. I came across the product when I worked with the old Ontario Hydro and we were looking for something like it for use in one of our divisions. JPS Management continues to listen to its clients and continues to add regular improvements to the product that aim to meet customer needs. If I were running my own company today, this is the product I'd use and I'd strongly recommend looking into it. You can email me at kgod@accordconsulting.com and I'll see that you get a call from JPS' President himself. As far as how do you select a product, here are some thoughts: 1. Look for integration of components. 2. Look for "computer-assisted" approach to minimize the work, and increase the accessibility of your users. 3. Make sure there are appropriate multi-levels of security in the software. 4. Make sure the company has lots of other users and regular 'client user meetings' across the country. 5. Ask for access to users and visit them onsite to see the product actually being used. 6. Look for user-friendly 'help' pop-ups on every screen. That's just for starters. Most importantly, consider the long-haul, not just what you need today, but what you'll need tomorrow. If I can help futher, give me a call: Ken B. Hi:
You may want to look into a software company called HR Technologies(www.hrscope.com). I recently had the opportunity to be an attendee for a webinar they hosted. I must say I was very impressed! Hope this helps! Regards, S |
