Discuss how to choose system that will yield the best results, as well as how to maintain it, and how to calculate its return on investment.

We currently have the BAAN MRP system, the HRVantage HRIS system, and an old stand alone non-exempt payroll system. Exempt payroll runs through Paychex off of a stand alone PC. We want to put in place a new HR/Payroll system that allows us to eliminate a lot of the paper and telephone calls between HR and Payroll. At the same time, we would like to get some direct employee and Manager information input/access capabilities and the whole thing should interface with BAAN. I think I feel a headache coming on! Any ideas?

Actually, any system can interface with any other if you're willing to spend the time and money to do it.

I would not rule out the otherwise best 2 or 3 candidate companies for HRIS/Payroll just because they don't provide a delivered BAAN interface. BAAN is not as popular as it used to be and fewer big HRIS vendors are providing delivered interfaces to it (I'm assuming you're talking about General Ledger Interface).

Good Luck.

Have a look at MyHRIS by NuView. It is a complete HRIS package (HR, Benefits, Recruitment and Succession Planning with Employee and Manager Self-Service). Completely web-native, you can access the system from anywhere as long as you have internet access (and your server security allows this). A Payroll/Timekeeping module also comes with the product; so your employees can enter their hours into the system and managers can approve and automatically submit the hours to payroll (or they can create an interface into whatever Payroll system you choose). You can review their product at www.nuviewinc.com or call them for an online at 800-244-7654.
