Discuss how to choose system that will yield the best results, as well as how to maintain it, and how to calculate its return on investment.
We need to replace our HR and Payroll systems but are floundering. Too many software vendors, too many options (purchase, outsource, etc). We are looking for some consulting to get us headed in a dire

Rick Fletcher with the HR consulting firm, HRchitect, is an excellent individual who does not affiliate himself with any one vendor or software. He takes the true nature of consulting seriously: learning first hand from the client their needs.

We replaced our HR system and payroll system over the last two years. A consulting company that we found that does not have any affiliations with any software vendor is called SoftResources LLC out of Seattle, WA. Their phone number is (206) 860-2400. Their e-mail is mail@softresources.com. Also website is www.softresources.com. I think that you will find them to be very professional and unbiased.

As a former consultant with a large ERP consulting firm, my advice to you is to try and find an individual or your own project manager who has had experience in this area. My most recent job was as a consultant for one of the world's largest information technology/business consulting companies.
If you don't know what you're doing, they will convince you that you need to spend two, three or more times as much as you really have to decided which HR/Payroll system is best for you, and will then try and convince you to utilize their services for going through the request for bidding process. Once you have decided on a vendor, you'll need them to work with you during the implementation process, and they will try and convince you that you need "change" agents to help you prepare your employees for the new system, and on and on. You pay consultant fees from $275 to $500, and your project almost always runs over budget. What's worst, they lead you to believe that their consultants are all extremely knowledgeable in their subject areas and that's as far from the truth as can be.

We are a HR Consulting firm & have assisted our clients in the selection of HRIS systems. In doing so, we have developed a HRIS Selection Checklist which is available from our website (www.dresserassociates.com) or email us.

During our assistance with our clients in their search of an HRIS system, we found Best Software's Abra Suite & were impressed with the functionality & pricing. We have begun to work closely with them & would suggest that during your review of systems that you look at different Abra solutions.

Good luck in your search..

I work for a consulting firm (Mercer Human Resource Consulting). We have assisted many clients with vendor searches for all types of HR and payroll systems. Our practicioners have wide experience in HR and Payroll - many of them having come to us from those disciplines within corporations.

There are many HRIS venders that many companies are spoilt for choice.
In the first place, will your company help to discover the HRIS need of your
clients before helping them in their search for a suitable HRIS?
How will your company go about assisting companies on which HRIS venders to
choose from ?
