Hello, everyone:

I am working for a small company with 150 employees. Right now, I am looking for a performance appraisal software to help me making the appraisal process easier.

I did some researches, and there is one product caught my attentions. It is "Employee Appraiser 5.0" made by Success Factors. Does anyone have any experience of using this product?

Your experience sharing is appreciated. Thank you

Employee Appraiser is an OK product, but it's pretty basic. It doesn't give you much more functionality than a set of template forms and sample reviews for high, medium and low performers.

Some of the limitations include:
It's windows-based, so you essentially have a separate copy for each person completing a review. This makes it hard, if not impossible, to roll-up data across the organization or to manage the process centrally (for example, monitoring who has and hasn't completed their reviews). It also is much more maintenance and support cost over the long run, compared to a web-based system.

It has very limited flexibility in terms of what you evaluate and how. It's really geared toward a cut-and-paste review.

There is a feature that gives you canned text for each criteria in the review. Users tend to like this sort of thing, because it does the thinking for them, but you end up with very generic, almost duplicate reviews, which could potentially be very damaging legally. You should avoid something that lets you click a button and then spits out a paragraph describing a person's behavior. Although you can go back and edit this text, few people will take the time to do that.

You can see a good example of an expandable, customizable, web-based system at www.mindsolve.com
