Discuss how to choose system that will yield the best results, as well as how to maintain it, and how to calculate its return on investment.
I would appreciate assistance on information, reseach or surveys about these topics. The best practices to develop a recognition system for public employees.

You know there is a ton of information out there on this topic. The problem is that most of it relates to private business, those that understand it helps to reward employees to help them meet their business goals. I happen to work for the public service myself and have been for a number of years trying to implement a recognition program in my own organization. This is one of the most difficult things I have ever done other than try to get people to contribute to charities. The Federal government has finally come up with a fairly decent program to recognize years of service for their employees, but trying to get managers to dedicate resources for recognizing employees seems to only be for those orgs, that are out of the public eye with money to spend. That being said if I could just find a way to get managers to realize the 1st step just say thanks to those that help you achieve you goals I would be doing good. I guess I too would like to see something that has had success when it comes to recognition in the public sector. But please there has got to be a way to do this without the public being aware we are using their tax dollars to reward the people who serve them.

An effective recognition program can be as simple as supervisors providing honest and frequent feedback to their direct reports. Why wait to recognize achievement when it can be recognized immediately?
