My company has used SAP HR for a few years. Now we want to go next step, e-HR.

A constraint from our executives is that we must use SAP HR as a database.

My consultant suggests 2 system, PeopleSoft portal and SAP portal. Our end users prefer PeopleSoft.

Has your company implemented PeopleSoft portal (or else) on top of SAP HR?
What should I concern about?
How about impact in long term?

Thank you very much.

Don't do this. Stick with one supplier. They all have difficulties enough integrating their own systems (PSFT with different databases for HRMS and Finance) not to talk about systems of others.

I would not try to put PeopleSoft's web front end on top of SAP/HR. The ERP vendors develop capabilities to work with their own ERP systems, not their competitors. Trying to put PeopleSoft's web applications on top of SAP/HR (or vice-versa) is just asking for trouble.

If you want to stick with SAP/HR but not use SAP's web front-end, then I would go to a third party web-based self-service tool vendor, like Workscape. These vendors build web-based self-service front ends that are specifically intended to be integrated with ERPs such as SAP.
