Do you know which vendor is the best???
Discuss how to choose system that will yield the best results, as well as how to maintain it, and how to calculate its return on investment.
I would like to know which vendor is the best for mid-sized to large company. Why is it good?? What firm implement the system effectively? Any suggestions?

After several implementations for comapnies > 3000 employees I consider PeopleSoft the best there is. I am now implementing HR 8.3 and enterprise performance management 8.3

lolita, Just responded to your other question - we are a PeopleSoft partner. Would be happy to introduce you to the product and help you understand it's benefits in the mid-market.

Lolita

Answering the question: "which software is best ...?" is like asking "which automobile is best?" -- "Best" for what purposes, what applications do you need to support, what technical platform will it operate on, what type of employee population, in how many locations, how sophisticted are your users, and about 20 other pertinent questions

Anybody who tells you that one particular HRMS is "best" categorically is only expressing an opinion and one that may or may not be informed -- there are over 1500 HRMS vendors selling well over 2500 products -- since somebody is buying what they are selling, they all must be doing something right, right?

You can get all kinds of answers to your query but wouldn't it be more useful to you and others if you first described what you need

If you want to discuss how to determine what you need, that's a whole different area

I would like to know a little detail on what excactly you are looking for in a system? That give me a better understanding of the direction to put you in.

Thank You,

You should definitely include CORT Directions if you're looking for a client server, web or hosted solution for payroll and HR. Integrated HRMS and they've been around for a long time, and have my clients up and running in a few weeks due to the migration tools they have. Great reputation and I can trust them to handle my customers well. www.cortpayroll.com.

Anyone investigating time keeping systems might want to check out Trillium's Time & Attendance Symposium. It's really an intensive seminar with six vendors giving demos. It's a time saver and you can really grill the vendors - not the typical, rah-rah' of other such events. Http://www.trillium-services.com/Seminars/

Also, check out the annual Time & Attendance Product Review at PayrollConnect: http://www.payroll-connect.com/CurrentArticles/2004TAReview.aspx Worth a look.

Vince,

Can you give me an idea of what those 20 other questions might be? I need to research HRIS systems but am not even sure how to access what we need yet! About 350 employees, professional (with certification) and clerical employee population, would like to track/save resumes, do online applications, track new hire information and tranfer to existing payroll system, track requistions and interview schedules, performance reviews schedules. What else do I need to be asking?
Thanks!

It is important to link your HRIS Strategy to your Business Plan for starters you can look at -

Business unit requirements
Requirements of casual users Service needs of indirect users Enterprise requirements

Technology Development environment
Execution environment Applications architecture Investment Initial costs of acquisition and implementation Ongoing costs of maintenance and enhancements Ability to Execute Probability that the vendor will remain viable in the market.

Probability that the vendor will be able to execute its vision and strategy for your industry.

Service and Support Pre-implementation Implementation Post-implementation Vision Vendor's vision, strategic plan, direction and intent. Appropriateness of vendor's vision for your market.

Correlation of vendor's vision with your industry needs and trends. Correlation of vendor's vision with your companys IT Systems strategic direction.

Good luck!
