Our organisation is exploring some new payroll, time and attendance and HR technology including things such as web based self serve for employees and managers etc. Does anyone know much about or had any experience with the ADP/Spectrum Plus HR Payroll System interfaced with time and attendance systems Kronos’ Workforce Central or Positive IT’s e-tivity. |

ADP and Kronos are good systems, but their customer support is not up to leader status. One company we found that offers a great system and World Class Support is NOVAtime. We have been using them for 2 years and they are very professional. |

Michael,
One of the first choices that your organization must make is if you want a Best-of-Breed solution for your BackOffice (HRMS/Payroll/Time & Labor) or Single Vendor Single Application. There are Pro's & Con's for either path you choose. Many companies have gone down the road of Best-of-Breed by outsourcing payroll and purchasing an HRMS solution for HR,Time collection and Employee & Manager Self-Service. These companies are happy in my opinion and have the ability to create a single point of entry through HR which flows to Payroll. If you are thinking about a single vendor approach, then the Kronos Workforce solution may be a good alternative. They offer a complete backoffice solution from time collection to payroll journal entries. Both Kronos & Spectrum applications are built on a web-native platform (browser only) and are strategic in their approach to the way you would manage your workforce. Spectrum Plus will interface well with both products on the surface the main issue will be if they interface in the manner you require. Kronos is a much larger organisation and not based in Australia so be sure it will support your particular needs from an education persopective. Having said this the reverse may also be true with Positive being smaller they may not have the capacity to support your needs. I would suggest you ask both vendors for reference sites from within the education industry of Australia. Speak with these organisations and to understand not just worked well but what did not work as well as they had hoped. You could also try looking on the AHRI web site for information in their knowledge base on case studies etc on the two organisations.
