I was looking for an online review for Time and Attendance.

I found this site and would like to offer my review of TimeCentre.net Enterprise solution. Purchased April 2004.

My issues after two paydays is not very good. The Enterprise application:

Java based solution so it is dog slow.
Will not work on standard 640 X 480 displays
Documentation is less than expected
Technical support is lacking
Senior management is not wanting to fix it
Ownership responded but no fix
No alerting to application errors
No alerting to failed business rules
Very cryptic interface
All Supervisors doing reviews compained
Scheduling is lacking and strange.
No installation routines so each site is different, making support very tough.
Disaster recovery planning is not possible with this software.
Rounding rules less than neeeded.
Holiday rules less than needed.
I bought two hardware magnetic clocks, one arrived failed and one failed in 24 hours.

I selected them because the Payroll Vendor recommended them as the best.

I can not imagine the worse!

Good luck on finding a real deal solution.

Amazingly, none of the companies I've worked with seem to be much better. Many of these systems are expensive, yet they ship the time clocks and peripherals in a box and don't even follow up with customers to tell them how to install it. I've heard DataMatics(?) might be a good company to work with, but I've also heard they might be pretty limited in their capability.

Take a look at Midrange Software. www.midrangesoftware.com. I am a consultant working with them on a few customers. They have a new clocking software (w/optional hardware) that I must admit beats all the competition I have seen out there.

Please consider giving TimeTrak Thin Client a look. As much better alternative to a "slow" and/or hardware intensive Web-Based Time and Attendance solution. TimeTrak has all the features, power, and speed of the best-of-bred system, yet allows users to use any type of wide area network including the Internet. And as with any sensitive and timely data, you get to control your application and database, which is secured on your server. Upfront cost is quite reasonable and there are no on-gong user fees such as in the ASP models. Training, unlimited support, free version etc. make it a safe decision. Let us know how we can help www.timetrakcentral.com
