We have 75 employees and 3 branches - any recommendations?

There are two ways to go. 1. You can go with a generic package that is well written for general accounting, but perhaps not so great for your industry, or 2. you can go with a specialized program, such as Timberline Software who sells to construction and property management firms.

If you talk to Great Plains (now Microsoft), they may also recommend Navision (also owned by MS. There are also some packages like MAS/90 (there are different flavors as I understand it, like MAS/2000), Soloman, and others. You might do a Google search on small business accounting software.

Oh, also: I see this all the time... if you buy Great Plains or Navision, for example, you DO NOT have to use their HRMS. In fact, you should compare HRMS software specifically to see what works best for you. The good software will interface just fine with these accounting packages. Good luck! Cheryl.

We are a combined group of CPA's, Process and Technology experts, Attorneys and HR and HRMS professionals. For accounting and financial reporting Navision is an excellent option for a company your size. The payroll and HRIS piece should be considered a separate choice. The web based versions of Ultipro or PDS would be good options for those areas. There are others, but these compare well for practical costs and good service. Contact me, if I can be of help.
