Is it set in stone that you must have a college degree to hold a Human Resouces Management position? I was told otherwise at a seminar by a very knowledgeable, experienced Human Resouces specialist/speaker. He stated that this in one profession where you only need to be good with people and keep up on the current labor laws and read, read, read.
Please give me any contributions that you may have on this subject. Thank you in advance for your input.
Thank you,
Brenda

The only stone that such would be set in would be the "closed-minds" of some companies. Some of the very best HR types I know never set foot on a college campus. Would/does a degree help? Yes, it would for some avenues such as leadership and training. I felt I was a very good HR professional before completing my degree (20 years after I started) and primarily only completed my coursework for self satisfaction.
