Good small business HRIS, Payroll, and Benefits vendors?
Discuss how to choose system that will yield the best results, as well as how to maintain it, and how to calculate its return on investment.
I work with many small to mid-sized companies (below 1500 employees) as a consultant. Many of my clients are moving to HRIS for he first time or are trying to get away from their current systems. Whic

I would also like to remind you, that many HRIS's stop at COBRA. So do not forget about this important aspect. There are some web-based systems, that can easily transfer the data from your HRIS and then process your COBRA events as well.
Take a look at www.cobrapoint.com. |

I'm about to violate a cardinal rule of HRMS consultants: You can't tell somebody what the "best" systems are unless you know something about their requirements, their technology platform, and their prior experience -- after all, there are only about 2000 [ yes, thousand ] vendors out there
You have discovered that everybody has something to sell -- we used to, now we don't -- but we have worked with ALL of the major vendors over a 25 year period -- at the risk of sounding arrogant, we know the market as well as anybody, better than most VRC has been VARs [dealers] for Abra [ now Best ], FLX [ now Ceridian ], Dun & Bradstreet [ now GEAC ] -- most recently, we came across a hot number out of Seattle named HR Office, by Ascentis Software Check it out: www.Ascentis.com They market a full function HRMS, based on MS SQL*Server -- they support benefits administration as well as the big guys -- they support about 10 flavors of payroll --they offer their product either as a standard license or as a hosted [ ASP ] solution For 500 employees, cost is about $15,000 for everything including ESS -- hosted, the cost is about $4.00 per employee/per month If you choose to download their demo, you will be contacted by a sales rep and on a mailing list -- not altogether a bad thing but I wanted you to know Happy hunting !!!
