Policies Now & Ultimate Employer

We purchased Ultimate Employer a few years ago at fairly large expense, and would very much like to update the programs, due to that expense. But we now find that unexpected troubles:

The company does not reply to emails
The support group does not reply to requests for support
The latest update on their current issues page was in August, 2003
The one time they emailed me back they said they "hoped to update it within the next few months", which in software-company-talk means, "we have no idea how to go forward," IMHO.

I hope I am wrong. Are they still around in a meaningful way?
