First, my company's particulars: Approx 100 ees, 1 person HR dept (me), currently have a confusing myriad of Excel spreadsheets where info has to be entered multiple times and I have to manually go through ee folders for the majority of info as it's requested. I spend most of my time doing data entry and research, and I know there has to be a more efficient way of doing these things. I would like a system that integrates all info in one place, I DO NOT need any type of ESS or MSS, however it would be nice if I could access the information from my laptop at home (so I could take a vacation!) - but this is not absolutely needed. I have researched approximately 15 different solutions and a lot of them seem to be too much for my little operation. I have narrowed down my choices to the following : HROffice, HRVantage (Spectrum), TotalHR, HR Advantage (Vantage Point), and ABRA HR Suite. Any advice current or former users of these systems can offer would be much appreciated.
Thank you.

I hate ABRA - very costly & not user friendly. We are currently working to get out of ABRA - I find there is a huge margin for error due to the windows being difficult to naviagate. Have you looked at Ceridian? We're investigating our options too & I know they system is web based which allows it to be accessable anywhere - a huge benefit to our small HR department (1 manager & 1 assistant & 1 PT payroll) where if one person is gone (which needs to happen!) it would be nice if they could help out in a pinch. Just our two cents. let me know how things turn out for you!

If you want, you could perhaps use Pivot Tables in Excel for the time being that may help pull data from several different places. That way data is in one worksheet and you can call on it if needed. However, that will require a lot of data input. My company uses Lawson and has all of the suites. I don't know what kind of money you're looking to spend but it's a great program once learned.

We used Spectrum's HRVantage for almost 5 years and recently upgraded to their iVantage product (web based). I was always happy with their service, great customer service, good help desk, etc.
