Here's mine: As a production specialist on a highly respected training team, I eventually was offered the opportunity to provide stand-up delivery in the classroom for the first time. I really wanted to make a good impression, so I jumped on a plane and headed for the soybean farmland of Iowa to run the session. There I learned that I was to have 19 participants in my class (triple the preferred quantity for this particular program). I also learned that 4 established members of the training team (including my manager) would be sitting in to provide moral support (and gauge my effectiveness - yikes!). When I arrived in Iowa my colleagues insisted on taking me out to dinner and I went with them even though I knew I didn't feel confident about portions of my presentation and I really should have been doing more prep work. After saying goodnight to my friends, I returned to my hotel room where curiosity finally got the better of me and I completed a pregnancy test I had purchased earlier that day. Yes, that's right, sitting alone in an Iowa hotel room hundreds of miles away from my husband, I learned I was going to be a mother for the very first time. Needless to say, I was completely distracted in the classroom the next morning! Between the overstuffed participant list, the extensive 'moral support' present, the dread of not being fully prepared, and the newly discovered pregnancy, I'd have to say that particular session was the training experience I'd most like to forget!

I can't imagine! So did you get an evaluation on your session? Perhaps it wasn't as bad as you think...
