I have been asked to conduct small group (2-3 employees) training sessions on sensitivity training as well as sexual harassment and workplace violence prevention. Does anyone have any resources they can share or outlines they've used? We are doing this ourselves vs bringing someone in to conduct it. This will be my first time doing something like this so anything that can be provided is appreciated!

I used to do this sort of training when I worked in Australia. We ran with larger groups so that personnel did not feel like they were being singled out for "remedial" training.
I don't have any outlines here with me in the States, but suggest you look at legislative requirements on discrimination etc and base your training around that and any workplace policies/procedures already in place. Disability/Equal opportunity organisations probably have suggestions for activities that can assist trainers. Sorry I can't be of more help. Please feel free to email me at swalsh@community-research.com if you want to talk more.

What kind of "sensitivity?" You want to raise awareness of what issues? You're stepping into changes in attitude which is a very difficult arena! If it's your first time with this type of "training" perhaps you'd be more comfortable bringing in an expert the first time through--someone who could help you develop the program and do some train-the-trainer coaching.
It's really good to see organizations express an interest in increasing sensitivity in whatever topic! It's definitely a step in the right direction with more emphasis everyday on relating to other people.

"Sensitivity training" is usually language for EEO topics. There are video tapes on sexual harassment and other EEO topics and maybe even workplace violence. Some are quite good; there is also e-learning available however I don't have the details.
And, while it will be necessary for you to understand exactly what your employer has in mind, here's the little-understood basic truth: Virtually all our inter-personal dealings are based on how much or well we respect other individuals at every level in an organization and, of course, ourselves.
You are being placed in an extremely difficult situation and would be well advised to stick to what you do know in terms of dealing with others and basic respect issues. As the company's "agent", it is also possible that you are in a position to be sued if you provide incorrect advice.
This is, indeed, delicate territory. BTW, only 2-3 people at a time doesn't sound so much like training as counseling.
It also sounds like your company has had or still has a problem of some sort that needs specific redress. If that is so, this effort is quite likely to fail, even if it was very well done.

We use two policies that each employee must sign upon hire: Policy Against Discrimination and Harrassment, and Workplace Violence Policy. When we implemented each policy we brought in specialized trainer to presen to the entire company at the same time. Each new employee orientation covers these areas also.
We have a limited training budget so I've learned to be resourceful. In my state, the department of labor and industrial relations provides funding for employee training. I work in concert with the local university professionals to design specific training programs and they provide the instructor. Check out your states DOL, you might have some free training available.
Workplace violence training is big business but the trainers charge a fortune! The DOL employers training fund helped us on this one too. We just couldn't use the term "Workplace Violence", I guess they don't want a lawsuit. It was titled Harmony in the Workplace. As a follow up to that mandatory training, I am bringing in a domestic violence counselor, again - FREE! The attorney general's office is providing funding for a limited time. Contact your local office, perhaps they provide funding or a contact person.
Good luck!
