My company has quite a few employees who can only speak spanish. Many cannot read or write in their native language. We would like to offer a program to them where they can access a computer terminal or TV during work hours so that they may learn English. We are looking for a program for beginners so they can learn from scratch. Does anyone know of a good interactive package, whether it be video or a computer program, that is comprehensive and would allow us to track their progress?

Hello!

I'm looking for the same thing. I would be interested to see if you have discovered anything.

I have found two online vendors that seem interesting: www.englishtown.com and www.globallanguage.com. I've found one vendor that sells hard copy materials (video, CBT, etc.) called The Languge Solution (website same name).

You may also want to inquire at a local college to see if they offer English as a Second Language (ESL), and would be willing to help design an on-site course for your people.

I also read somewhere that this type of training sticks better when the student's family also learn English (because they might tend to use it more at home, thereby increasing retention). You might want to offer it to spouses/adult children if possible.

Hope this helps!
