Something that all trainers should learn is that we cannot teach people anything - all we can do is stimulate their senses. Learning is intrinsic to every person but unless you push the right buttons by stimulating them to WANT to learn your "teaching" will be ineffective. While e-learning is a wonderful tool it is only one tool. People have different needs and have different learning style preferences. Some people may be strongly bodily-kinesthetic while another person may have a preference for spatial learning -to them linguistic teaching may be a turn-off. IO can go on for a long time on this, but just think on the implications of this short posting.

Regards.

Workforce.com just published formulae to calculate cost and savings of technology-based training (TBT). This may help. As I read your question, the value of training is not an issue - just e-learning as the teaching platform of choice. It may also be that the subject matter you intend to teach may not lend itself to an e-learning format - and your potential students know it.
