Training with different behaviors
A forum for exchanging ideas about skills training, leadership training, management training, compliance training, e-learning, as well as organizational development and effectiveness.
I am creating training for waitstaff trainers. We want to "train" them on how to deal with different behaviors of who they are training ie.e some one shy, negative, knows it all.

We are also a gaming based organization. Our wait staff was issued handbooks with serving procedures, alcohol serving procedures, and then given customer service training. It made a big difference. Although in this type of business you cannot give them a guide for troubleshooting everything they might encounter, you can still give them the skills to handle any situatuion they may come across.

not sure I understand your question, but I would certainily make sure the training included some role-playing or role modeling.
Poll your internal experts and ask them for some stories that you could use as situations. Make sure you capture the kinds of things they will run into frequently as well as some that are rare but that they should know how to deal with. Another thing that helps is to give them some kind of "lifeline" like a phone number they can call if they need advice.

To clarify this will be for training trainers. I want to give them tools on how to "deal with" training a new employee that may be shy, is a "know-it all" or does not pay attention as some examples. Are there any good resources for this information?
