I am researching into the area of adult learning (older adults: see age and stage theory) and the learning models: creating tools of engagement to foster independance.
Take a look at Age and Stage Theory, also look at trends that are increasing the isolation of adults as they age - then consider the philosophies of geragogy, pedagogy and adult gogies. |

The problem of training transfer is still an area that needs a lot of work. This is the challenge in enabling and encouraging employees to actually apply the skills they learn during training back on the job in a sustained way.

what about the increasing trend towards outsourcing T&D to people that operate at a transaction level only and do not (necessarily) understand the real need of the organization and the culture - what are the risks to the profession in the long term?
