Hello Deepa. Im not convinced that doing outbound training as a part of induction is the best time to do it. At that point in their employee life-cycle, the inductee has not as yet been assimilated into your organizations culture. They will be unfamiliar with the people, processes, systems, expectations, rewards, and so on.
Yes, getting them early with the aim of putting them on the straight and narrow with what you expect is admirable, but without a real organizational context, I feel that the training will be largely wasted. On top of this, outbound programs are of very limited value unless backed up with pre- and post-training integration with their daily working life. And this gets back to my original point. Without that integration, your time and money may well be wasted. I presume that none, or hardly any, of the inductees workplace managers and peers will be going on the training. If this is not the case and these people will be on the course, then Im willing to listen more. Lastly, having one course engender team building, creativity, introspection, leadership (and more) for all seems to be a scattergun approach, as well as being overly optimistic. Id rather see these things encouraged and developed from within the organization using properly thought out management systems and skilled managers. Id rather keep inboarding as inboarding. Outbounding at this time seems to me like an expensive way of achieving very little of lasting impact. Im happy to be shown otherwise.
