Before giving you any response, I think you'll have to provide us with [a lot] more info.  Such as:

1. How much are you willing to spend for one?  A good survey can cost you close to 5 figures; a custom survey even more;

2. What industry are you in?  Is there an industry association which offers salary surveys (often for much less than compensation consulting firms)?

3. What are you trying to establish by purchasing a survey?  How specific do you need the information to be?

Agreed.

Many of the large HR consulting firms publish surveys. Often you can get a price break if you agree to participate in the data gathering part.  Each HR firm usually does specific industries.

Say you want an Oil and Gas related salary survey.  That would usually be done by an HR firm in the Houston/Dallas/Oklahoma region since that is where the large Oil and Gas firms are based.   I remember years ago the Houston office of Mercer did a LARGE Oil and Gas comp survey every year (hence my example).

Daily Q&A

How to Address Flagging Motivation?

How do I increase motivation levels in the department? How do I brand my business unit as an attractive place to work? I have top-notch IT professionals in my business unit who feel they are "children of a lesser God" because they are non-billable resources and do not get plum postings abroad, nor the glamour that goes with them. As a result, their motivation suffers.
