Bereavement Leave for Step Parent in Law

Our Bereavement policy is states leave for PArent in law. an employee is asking for leave for Step Father in law. My HR Manager would like to deny this. I think if the step father inlaw was a primary

Thank you all for weighing in with your opinions. While my Manager ruled against it, the employee's manager went to the President (who is her Dad) and got a one time waiver for him. We had no choice but to abide by that.

^lol. I had it when that sort of thing happens. You know when a family or a special friend gets some kind of special treatment at work. but, it's not such a bad thing on this case I suppose.
