we are changing our paid time off from a standard ee allotment to earning as you go. Part of our new policy states,"if you are out of work over two successive weeks for reasons other than time under our Earned Time policy, your accrual amount will stop until you return to work". My question is how other ers handle and accrual based system and ee unpaid absences.

In a previous job, we handled the issue the way you are planning on doing it. Any unpaid time off is not counted for the accruals. I am new to this position and I have been approched about earned time off program. I was curious as to how I would go about presenting this idea to the owners of this company. There is quite a bit of interest with the employees. Any help with a structured presentation would be gratefully appreciated.
