I am trying to come up with a figure that will help me estimate future costs for budgeting purposes. I've done the "eyeball" and percent approaches, and I'm wondering if I will get a better number if I use $/employee. Does anyone do this, and if so, how? The $/emp seems to be a bit of a moving target since employees and their elections fluctuate within a year as folks get married, have kids, do other stuff that has an impact on their benefits selections.
