I hope I can revive this important dialogue by posing a question which I think is simplistic, yet I'm told carries a lot of weight:

Is there a difference between work engagement and employee emagagement?

Can anyone shed some light please? Thanks a lot.

I am not sure of a foolproof solution for this subjective matter, but there are critical factors impacting as per your organization. Q12 Gallup I have seen, can be near to real business focus. How it measures up to real time difference, they will be able to comment better. But again it is subjective and can face analysis paralysis when statistics is applied. Good HR is all about a mix of statistics and personalization/ localization.

The age old question on how to engage employees to be loyal and be the best they can be.  I think that when this forum was actually started the techniques were different than they are now.  The reality is that engagement — or, more precisely put, emotional attachment — is heavily influenced by employee experiences with their employers, leadership interactions, policies and procedures, company image, and aspects surrounding the job, work, rewards, social camaraderie and the work environment.

According to a study, employee engagement consists of two things: work engagement and organizational engagement. An employee should have a high score on both so as to be high on the overall engagement level. For more information: please refer to the following link:

Daily Q&A

How to Address Flagging Motivation?

How do I increase motivation levels in the department? How do I brand my business unit as an attractive place to work? I have top-notch IT professionals in my business unit who feel they are "children of a lesser God" because they are non-billable resources and do not get plum postings abroad, nor the glamour that goes with them. As a result, their motivation suffers.
