I'm absolutely not talking about education about financial plans the employer already provides for its employees (and neither is the OP). Of course I want our employees to know as much as possible about the financial benefits we provide them! This is not a risky practice, this is a risk-prevention practice!

The OP and I are talking about the employer hiring outside parties to come in and provide general personal financial information and training to employees. This is risky.

agree that you should provide education and materials for plans you provide as the employer (401k for example). A prudent fiduciary along with a good recordkeeper/broker would have these types of educational materials for the employees already.
