Has anyone implemented an adoption policy? Does your policy provide paid time off? If so, how much time?

That falls under FMLA for us; we follow the FMLA guidelines and treat it the same as any other FMLA issue. We have no separate policy that covers adoption.

The Adoption Policy usually falls under the Family and Medical Leave (FMLA) policy.

We just implemented an adoption policy for non-union employees that provides up to 3 weeks of paid time off. If both parents are employees, the maximum applies to both.

We too have an adoption policy that falls under FMLA coverage. However, on top of that we provide between 6 - 10 weeks of full pay to new mothers and from 1 - 3 weeks of full pay to new fathers in conjunction with FMLA leave. We also offer a flat dollar amount $5,000 per child to aid in off-setting adoption expenses.

Very generous. Is this a Wall Street investment firm perhaps?

Daily Q&A

How to Address Flagging Motivation?

How do I increase motivation levels in the department? How do I brand my business unit as an attractive place to work? I have top-notch IT professionals in my business unit who feel they are "children of a lesser God" because they are non-billable resources and do not get plum postings abroad, nor the glamour that goes with them. As a result, their motivation suffers.
