With regards to ABSENT BEFORE OR AFTER PAID HOLIDAY....... In my 30 years working for both a major corporation and as a manager for several small companies I have rarely seen employees abuse taking time off before or after a holiday.
We always allowed a given number of employees to take vacation time prior to or after a holiday and rarely had people calling in "sick" in order to extend the holiday. Yes, people might take advantage of the situation, but one just deals with it when, or if, it happens. Hope this helps! |
