Has anyone offered pet insurance as an employee benefit or negotiated discounts? I am looking for a reputable pet insurance company.

Your company can afford stuff like this? And you have time to do it?

Pet insurance as an employee benefit is actually becoming increasingly common in Canada. In the US though? In this economy? With all the wrangling going on about people health care? It does seem odd...

If I were tasked with this project, I would get on the phone with some veteranarians and ask them for advice.

I think the company most often used in Canada is Blue Cross. Maybe Blue Cross US does this as well.

Blue Cross in Canada does pet insurance? I wonder if we will have that in the US with Obamacare? *U*

Maybe OP's company is trying to replace their increasingly-costly people insurance with presumably-cheaper pet insurance?

thanks deltac for the suggestion. The rest of the responders have too much time on their hands. I thought this was a place to get suggestions from like minded HR professionals not a political forum.

I hear you, we are rapidly becoming a nation of skeptics, over-regulated and politically polarized.

Daily Q&A

How to Address Flagging Motivation?

How do I increase motivation levels in the department? How do I brand my business unit as an attractive place to work? I have top-notch IT professionals in my business unit who feel they are "children of a lesser God" because they are non-billable resources and do not get plum postings abroad, nor the glamour that goes with them. As a result, their motivation suffers.
